Bury and Whitefield Jewish Primary School and Nursery is committed to providing a caring, welcoming and secure environment, in which all children feel a sense of belonging, all children are motivated to work to the best of their ability and where the unique needs and achievements of each child are recognised. We aim to provide a curriculum which is relevant, balanced and in line with statutory requirements. The fix elements that underpin our curriculum values are:
Resilience, Creativity, Critical thinking, Curiosity, Challenge and Culture.
We believe that children should be taught respect for themselves and others. We aim to instil in our children a caring and responsible attitude towards other people, both within school and the wider community, as well as to develop in them a sense of awareness and understanding of moral, social and environmental issues. We have high expectations of behaviour and discipline, both in school and when involved in out of school activities, and aim to treat all children consistently and fairly.
Through the teaching of Judaism according to Halacha, the promotion of Jewish values, the State of Israel, and the celebration of Jewish worship according to the tenets of the local community orthodox Synagogues, we hope to foster in our children a love and understanding of their Jewish faith and heritage, which they will be encouraged to continue at secondary school and carry into adult life.
