"An outstanding school in which pupils make outstanding progress" - OFSTED

Behaviour

BehaviourWe insist on high standards of behaviour.  Respect for others and manners are at the core of what we believe.  Our behaviour policy works on the premise that each child is an individual. Incidents that occur in school are dealt with swiftly and in the spirit of reconciliation and forgiveness.

We operate a ‘Catch Me’  system where pupils can ‘get caught’ doing the right thing. Rewards such as ‘Star of the Day’  badges are awarded for good behaviour. Every Monday morning a special reward assembly is held to celebrate the best pupils in each class. A star board is displayed in the school hall.

Where problems occur, the children are spoken to by their class teacher in the first instance or by the Headteacher, where necessary. If  further problems occur then privileges such as playtime are removed.

We try to deal with all incidents positively, but inevitably, on occasions there are sanctions to face. If a particular problem arises with an individual child, a daily report will be issued to carefully monitor progress and behaviour through each session of the school day which is then sent home for parental inspection.

In order to achieve good behaviour and in the best interests of our children we expect the total co-operation of parents when requested.

We are a friendly school and staff and children get on well with each other.
